This year’s Writers’ Jubilee was held on April 26, 2008. It was a fun and exciting day for all who attended.
This year’s keynote speaker was Sylvia Markson. Sylvia is a ventriloquist with over 15 years of professional experience. Sylvia entertained students (and adults) with her amazing skits and awesome puppets. Smolder, a Stegadragon, was the huge hit with all who attended. In her workshops, Sylvia and her husband Chris worked with participants and advised them on how to develop a character for their own stories. This year there were 39 workshops during the three sessions throughout the day. The workshops varied in theme, but all had something to do with communication. There were workshops on sign language, poetry, publishing your manuscript, drawing animals, book binding, writing your own story, broadcast journalism and much, much more. | ![]() |

A HUGE Thank You to: the Board of Education, the MECS administration, the faculty and staff, the custodial and cafeteria staff, the PTO, and area businesses for their support of this event. A special thank you to all the volunteers who dedicate their time and talents in making the Writers’ Jubilee a successful day. |
