Solar Eclipse

Due to the anticipated weather forecast on the afternoon of April 8, 2024 and the solar eclipse which will begin at 2:09 PM that day, the Morrisville-Eaton Central School District has scheduled a 2-hour early release next Monday. There will be no PM BOCES.

The half-day Targeted Pre-K program for 3-year olds will be dismissed at 11:15 AM. The Middle/High School will dismiss at 12:13 PM and the elementary buses will be on the road by 1:30 PM. Elementary parents picking up their children should be in the pickup area at 1:15 PM.

There will be no school-sponsored extracurricular activities permitted from 1:45 PM through 4:45 PM. Music, sports, and club activities may meet before 1:45 or after 4:45, however any activity on this day will be optional for participants. Students will not be penalized for non-participation in their extra-curriculars on Monday since all are encouraged to enjoy this rare phenomenon in their own way with their families.

SUNY Morrisville is hosting activities open to the public. Eclipse glasses, half-moon cookies, and helioscopes will be available at their event. Visit: https://www.morrisville.edu/events/2024/solar-eclipse-events to learn more.

Be safe and enjoy the total eclipse of the sun!
