Correction

It was recently noted that the 2025–2026 Budget Notice mailed on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, included a typographical oversight related to the prior year’s three-part budget figures. While the correction had been made, it was not reflected in the version used for the official Budget Notice and the Budget Postcard. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

To clarify: this was a prior-year formatting correction that shifted $177,976 in retiree health insurance costs from the Program component to the Administrative component, where it appropriately belongs. This adjustment was identified during the preparation of the 2025–2026 three-part and contingency budgets.

Importantly, this typographical error does not affect any of the totals or figures for the proposed 2025–2026 budget. The correct information was included in the Budget Newsletter and presented at the Budget Hearing. All materials, including the revised Budget Notice, are available on the MECS District website for reference. Click HERE to access it.

Thank you for your understanding.
