Merger

Dear Members of the Cazenovia and Morrisville-Eaton Communities,

Thank you to everyone who took time to attend the Virtual Merger Exploration Kickoff held on February 3rd. We greatly appreciate the strong interest, thoughtful questions, and respectful engagement shown by community members from both districts.

We are writing to share an important update and to offer our sincere apologies for two technical issues that occurred during the event.

First, we learned during the meeting that some participants did not have access to the live Q&A feature. Second, despite multiple on-screen notifications indicating that the meeting was being recorded, the recording file could not be located once the session ended. Our IT team conducted a thorough review of our systems, and Microsoft has since confirmed that both issues were the result of a technical glitch in the meeting setup. Unfortunately, they were unable to recover the recording or pinpoint a single definitive cause.

We recognize that this is frustrating, particularly for those who were unable to attend live or fully participate in the Q&A. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.

To ensure transparency and access to information, we are sharing the complete PowerPoint presentation from the February 3rd session in its entirety. These slides reflect the full content that was presented during the meeting. This file can be found at the merger website hub: https://www.moboces.org/mecs-cazstudy

More importantly, this kickoff meeting is only the beginning of an extended, community-centered process. Over the coming weeks, Superintendent Linck and Superintendent Molloy will be scheduling a series of informal “Office Hours” and “Coffee with the Superintendents” sessions. These opportunities are intended to allow for open dialogue, questions, and conversation in smaller settings. In addition, several public forums and engagement sessions are already scheduled as part of the formal merger study process. The first two informal sessions are scheduled for:

Wednesday, February 25, 2026 5:00PM-7:00PM (Cazenovia District Office Board Room)

                Wednesday, March 4, 2026 8:00AM – 10:00AM (M-E District Office Conference Room)

We strongly encourage interested community members to attend one or more of these upcoming opportunities to learn more, share perspectives, and ask questions. Dates, times, and locations will be shared shortly through district communications and the merger study webpage.
