The Cazenovia and Morrisville-Eaton Boards of Education met jointly on October 5 to receive and review the results of the Cazenovia–Morrisville-Eaton Reorganization Feasibility Study.

The study was conducted by Schmitt Leadership Group and examines the potential effects of reorganization across a number of areas, including enrollment, instructional and extracurricular programming, staffing, facilities, transportation, finances, governance, and community considerations. The study is intended to provide information for local decision-making and does not itself constitute a decision to reorganize.

The feasibility study recommends that the districts publicly present the study and gauge community interest in proceeding to the next step in the New York State reorganization process. Potential next steps identified in the study include continued community engagement and consideration of a non-binding straw poll or petition process to assess public interest.

Community members are encouraged to review the materials presented at the joint meeting:

The full study contains the consultants' findings and recommendations regarding educational opportunities, enrollment, facilities, staffing, transportation, financial considerations, governance, and other areas. The updated FAQ also addresses questions submitted by community members throughout the study process and following the public forums.

Among its recommendations, the study emphasizes continued community engagement and transparent communication as the Boards consider whether to proceed to another step in the reorganization process.

Additional information and future updates will be shared with the community as the Boards continue their review and discussion.
