Women in Engineering

GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS AND THEIR FAMILIES!

On Saturday, October 22nd, the Manufacturing Alliance of Central NY (MACNY) will offer its first session in a series of events for parents/caregivers and their middle-school aged girls to explore careers in engineering, manufacturing, and science. Female professionals from local companies will lead students in a fun, hands-on activity together to spark interest in these high-tech careers.

The 10/22 event will take place at JPW Industries.

There is such a high-demand for recruits in these industries, that oftentimes companies will hire students at highly-competitive wages without a college education and pay for all necessary training/coursework that is desired.

A free lunch for students and free admission to the MOST (student and their family) will be provided.

This event features a panel with representatives from BOCES, manufacturers, apprenticeships, and community colleges, to give students, parents, teachers, and school counselors the opportunity to learn more about the rewarding career opportunities available right here in Central New York.
