Each year, one of the greatest privileges of serving as principal is recognizing the students who have achieved the highest academic honors in their graduating class.

It is my pleasure to congratulate the Valedictorian and Co-Salutatorians of the Morrisville-Eaton Class of 2026.

On May 19, 2026, these students and their families were formally recognized during a special ceremony held at E.R. Andrews Elementary School.

This year, after consultation with our Middle/High School faculty, we made the decision to recognize Co-Salutatorians for the Class of 2026. Our co-salutatorians' grade point averages were separated by only a few hundredths of a point while also reflecting high levels of academic rigor throughout their high school careers. As a result, we felt it was appropriate to recognize both students for their exceptional accomplishments.

🎓 Valedictorian – Kayden Benedict

This fall, Kayden will attend Colgate University, where she plans to major in Astrogeophysics. Throughout her time at Morrisville-Eaton, Kayden has distinguished herself through exceptional academic achievement, leadership, creativity, and involvement. As President of the Art Club, a nationally recognized artist through the Congressional Art Competition, and an engaged member of our school community, Kayden has demonstrated a passion for learning and a commitment to excellence that extends well beyond the classroom.

🎓 Co-Salutatorian – Cole Dean

Cole will attend Rochester Institute of Technology this fall, where he plans to pursue Exploratory Engineering with an interest in Aerospace Engineering. Throughout high school, Cole distinguished himself through his academic success, thoughtful approach to learning, and commitment to our school community. A talented musician and guitarist, he has been deeply involved in our music program while also contributing in many other ways, including supporting our athletic programs.

🎓 Co-Salutatorian – Liam Noble

Liam will attend Syracuse University this fall, where he plans to major in Computer Science. During his years at Morrisville-Eaton, Liam embraced a variety of opportunities, participating in Drama Club, Track and Field, music, Boy Scouts, and community theater. His involvement, leadership, sense of humor, and willingness to try new things have made him a positive and memorable presence within our school community. Liam's accomplishments both inside and outside the classroom reflect a student who has made the most of every opportunity available to him.

Having had the privilege of working alongside these students throughout their high school careers, I have watched them grow into outstanding young adults who represent the very best of Morrisville-Eaton. Their accomplishments are a reflection not only of their own hard work and determination, but also of the support provided by their families, teachers, and our entire Morrisville-Eaton Central School District community.

Please join me in congratulating Kayden, Cole, and Liam on this tremendous achievement. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to celebrating them, along with the entire Class of 2026, at our commencement ceremony on June 26.

Congratulations, Kayden, Cole, and Liam!

Please note that the district plans to open on time tomorrow morning (1/30/26). The wind chills are currently predicted to be as cold as -20 degrees. Please dress appropriately for the cold temperatures.

As a reference, the following was shared with our community in 2023 after we experienced a streak of cold temperatures: https://www.m-ecs.org/article/986222

It will be chilly, but our schools will be warm.

Middle/High Families,

I hope the winter break was enjoyable for you and your family.

As we return to classes, I would like to inform you that during the week of January 5–9, we will be conducting two of our required lockdown drills.

Please find the following information regarding these upcoming drills:

  • Lockdown protocols will be reviewed with students during each of their classes.

  • Prior to each drill, an announcement will be made indicating that a drill will begin shortly.

  • A second announcement will then initiate the drill.

  • Once the drill has concluded, a final announcement will be made to release students and staff back to regular activity.

  • Students will be reminded that during a lockdown drill, they will be asked to move to an area in the classroom or other secured space where they cannot be seen, remain quiet, and follow their teacher’s directions.

As always, these drills are conducted to ensure everyone is familiar with safety procedures and prepared in the event of an emergency.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to keep our school community safe.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Rauch | Principal

Middle/High Parents & Families,

Next Friday, December 19, 2025, marks the final day of school before our long holiday break. As is tradition, we aim to make the day fun and festive for Middle/High students with a Christmas Buffet (thank you to our wonderful cafeteria staff) followed by a holiday-themed movie in the auditorium.

To support the festivities, I am seeking 3–5 parent volunteers to help make and distribute popcorn for our nearly 300 students. All materials and supplies will be provided. The time commitment is roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. We’ll begin popping at 7:30 AM. The movie will begin around 8:15 AM and conclude around 9:45 AM.

If you’re available and interested, please email Mr. Rauch at nrauch@m-ecs.org or call the Middle/High Office at (315) 684-9121.

Thank you in advance for your support!
