📣 Join Us for Open House! 🏫✨
We are excited to welcome all families to our Open House on Thursday, September 19th from 6:00PM to 7:30PM! This is a great opportunity to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and learn about the exciting year ahead. We can't wait to see you there! 🎉

Sunday, September 8, 2024Dear Parents and Guardians,We made it through our first "week"—two days of school—and I’m happy to report that it was very busy, successful, and productive!I’d like to thank you for coming out to Open House. We had tremendous participation, and your support helped kick off the new school year on a high note. For those unable to attend, you missed the chance to meet our wonderful new staff members—but don’t worry! You can learn a little about this amazing group by clicking on the attached images. On our first day of school, we kicked things off with the Morning Show and a Principal’s Message to set the tone for a fantastic year. We spent time welcoming all our students, especially our incoming 6th graders, the Class of 2031. We also gave a special shout-out to the Class of 2025 as they started their last first day of school. Our teachers and staff are excited to see this group through to their graduation in June! During the assembly, we also introduced new staff, gave an overview of expectations for students, and encouraged everyone to start the school year strong. On Friday, September 6, I met with each grade level individually to review some of the topics introduced during my Principal’s Message the day prior and to discuss some other important items. These individual grade-level meetings allowed the conversation to be age-appropriate and tailored to each group of students. Our talking points included:New Cell Phone Expectations: As discussed during Open House and on the first day of classes, there have been some changes regarding cell phones. Middle school students are expected to have their phones off and away from 7:40 AM until 2:13 PM, as was the case last school year. High school students may use their phones between classes and during lunch, but phones are not permitted during study halls. Consequences for cell phone use are progressive and outlined in the 2024-2025 Student Handbook. Copies of the Student Handbook are available in the main office, counseling office, and on the district website under the Middle/High School page.Eligibility for Athletics and Co-Curriculars: Students failing one or more subjects at each progress report period or at the end of each marking period will be placed on eligibility protocol. This could result in missed practices, games, rehearsals, or events, and students will need to attend after-school academic study hall or meet with teachers daily. Eligibility will be evaluated weekly. More details will be shared at the 5-week point for those impacted. As I shared with students during my Principal’s Message and during grade-level meetings, everyone starts the year with a 100 in each class. The 5-week point will be here quickly, so I encouraged everyone to stay focused on their academics in these coming weeks with the hopes that all of our students wil be passing at the midway point of our first marking period.Study Hall Behavior: With larger study halls, some held in the cafeteria, I ask students for their support in maintaining an environment conducive to learning. Students should come prepared with homework, classwork, or materials to review or study.Attendance: As highlighted at Open House, consistent attendance is crucial for student success. We’ll provide support for students whose attendance may impact their academic progress.Fire (Evacuation) Drills, Lockdowns, etc.: Safety procedures were reviewed with students, and teachers will continue to go over them in the coming days prior to our first drills.Backpacks and Hoodies: Students are reminded that backpacks should be left in lockers, and hoods should not be worn during the school day to help maintain a safe environment.I’m pleased to share that students have been receptive to these expectations, and I want to commend them in advance for continuing to meet these standards. I’m confident they will continue to take these changes in stride!Thank you again for the opportunity to work with the best students. I’m looking forward to our first full week of the 2024-2025 school year, and I know it’s going to be a great one!Have a great week,Nicholas Rauch | PrincipalMorrisville-Eaton Middle/High School

A message from Ms. Howlett at the Middle/High School:
Kayden Benedict’s painting, “Lone Traveler”, was chosen for the 2024 Congressional Art Competition in our 22nd Congressional District. Kayden, a tenth grader in Advanced Art I, will have her painting hung along with other student artwork from around the country in the Hall of Congress for one year.
Thousands of people travel through those halls every day.
We are so proud of Kayden!
