Good morning, MECS Families. Due to an expected sudden drop in temperatures and the risk of a "Flash Freeze" after noon today, students will be dismissing at an earlier than planned time. The Middle/High School will dismiss at 9:45. Buses will then travel to the elementary school for a 10:00 dismissal and pickup. All bus-riding students will be on the road by 10:15. Drop offs may be slightly off schedule due to the combining of runs. These departure times should allow all our students and personnel to be off the roads by the time the temperature drops.

Be prepared for the POSSIBILITY of a modified half-day tomorrow, December 23rd. Another "Once in a Generation Storm" is in the weekend forecast. The details of this weather pattern and the timing of a rapid temperature change remain uncertain, but it appears that the early afternoon hours pose a risk for a flash freeze. We will monitor this storm over the next 24 hours. It is possible that an earlier dismissal than planned (up to an hour) may need to be considered. Please have a family plan for this possibility.
